Frank Hyder, who splits his time between Philadelphia and Miami, has become known for working across a variety of media. His paintings and sculpture have Show More...been widely exhibited in venues such as the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art's Museum of American Art, the Carnegie Museum in California, the La Salle Museum of Art in Philadelphia, and the National Museum of Catholic Art and History in New York among others. Hyder has also created several public art works, including three murals through the City of Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program: Hanging Garden of I-95, Honey's Garden, and Bell's Pond.

Delaware Valley University will host a special exhibit, celebrating the work of painter Lou Schellenberg. The show entitled, "Contemporary Landscape Paintings: Show More...Rural Pennsylvania," will open Nov. 8 and run through Jan. 31 in the second-floor atrium of the University's Life Sciences Building.
"The University's Arts on Campus initiative is working to enhance the experience for both students and visitors to Delaware Valley University's campus by providing a variety of art exhibits," said DelVal Director of Continuing and Professional Studies Admission Linda Lefevre. "We are pleased to host Lou Schellenberg's show and hope that the campus and community will take advantage of the opportunity to see her work on our campus."
Schellenberg, who lives near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, earned her MFA at the University at Albany. Newly conserved and exhibited for the first time in a century, In Exaltation of Flowers gives us an intimate look into a close-knit artistic circle on Show More...the eve of World War I. Edward Steichen painted this seven-panel mural for financier Eugene Meyer and his wife, Agnes Ernst Meyer, who planned to install it in their Manhattan townhouse. Like the flowers that Steichen cultivated in the garden at his French country home, this project was a "hybrid" work: it combined portraiture with elements from Symbolist painting, Pictorialist photography, and fashion illustration. This talk will tell the mural's story within the context of Steichen's work and the creative pursuits he shared with his patrons and friends, unfolding some of the details that made it such a personal project for the artist.
